Braden Pontoli (Music MFA 20) returned for a second year as curator (and creator) of Altadena Heals, a walking arts installation held in an immersive private garden setting in Altadena, California. Born in the aftermath of the Eaton Fires, Altadena Heals brings together Los Angeles-based artists (including fellow CalArts alumni) along a self-guided sound map that invites the community to move through the gardens at their own pace. Following an inaugural year that drew over 150 attendees, Pontoli expanded the 2026 festival to include visual artists and poets alongside performers from his vocal ensemble, Keiju Kollektiv. Altadena Heals took place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
