Shawnee Badger (Theater BFA 25) wrote and stars in the 14-minute drama The Climb, which makes its world premiere Friday, July 31, at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival. Inspired by Badger’s personal experience with grief, the film follows a father and daughter confronting a shared loss during a strenuous mountain hike. Directed by CalArts Head of Production Justin Hogan and produced through a collaboration of CalArts students, alumni, faculty and professional filmmakers, The Climb also stars BAFTA-nominated actor Adam J. Harrington.
